thanks :) yeah they are wierd looking, from afar they just look like normal flies but fatter and with an amber coloured abdomen

Good details but most of all wonderful ligting. Would you mind asking what kind of flash you're using?

I use 2 flashes, a bog standard Jessops 360 AFD gives directional light, and a Sigma EM 140 ring flash fills in the shadows and gives some ambient light.

I like his cute little snout.....but mostly I like the colorful flower and the lighting-as always. Lovely! :)
